take a soldering iron and build yourself one. that was the principle for upgrades. here's a brief showcase of how the games looked on original galaxy computer. amazon alexa (right) has great many skills. many of those skills are categorized as games and it was only a matter of time until it found itself on mobygames. while many skills are entertaining, not all are actual games. skill groups help determine that a bit, but best way is always to try it out, seeing how they're all free. what does alexa game "look" like? well, a word speaks 1000 of pictures ;)) submitted by mat (185140) on jul 20, 2018 3 comments lots of new (old) platforms added to mobygames! largely because vedder is adding a mountain of old games in his attempt to document early titles better ( look at 1976's much-augmented list , for example) kabushi has added all of the below game platforms recently: pcs: altair 8800, hp 9800, intel 8008, intel 8080, kim-1, microtan 65, swtpc 6800, tektronix 4050, zilog z80; consoles: bubble, interton video 2000, tele-spiel es-2201, telstar arcade. and vedder has added more since then which he can mention in the comments to this news story if he wants, haha. oh, and we added the pokitto too! go us! submitted by simon carless (1808) on jul 15, 2018 5 comments new mobygoal (& apologies for downtime!) thanks to everyone for bearing with us through some site downtime a couple of days ago. our (slightly old site) had its 'task manager' malfunction, so it required some complex surgery from reed & special guest helper brian h! seems to be working now, but feel free to post or pm if you see anything amiss. secondly, we took advantage of the editing to add a new stretch mobygoal - 7,000 iphone games . yep, we know they're not such a popular area to add for contributors, but there are a lot of smartphone games played by millions and not yet documented, so we thought we'd ask nicely! submitted by simon carless (1808) on jun 22, 2018 1 comments some more great mobygames users (& their milestones!) following up from the last post about this, and noting some of the congratulations mentioned in the news comments, wanted to point out: - rainer s , who does an amazing job of adding cover art for german titles in particular, is now over 100k mobypoints, one of a select few (less than 15!) to ever do that. - the incredibly methodical piltdown man is now over the 150k points mark - thanks to him for adding a lot of obscure pc shareware games of recent. thanks to these two, and please post other user milestones in the comments as you see them! submitted by simon carless (1808) on may 27, 2018 13 comments reminder: come hang on the mobygames discord! just a brief reminder that the mobygames discord server is open to all past, current & future moby contributors. it's a real-time chat service where various regulars talk about mobygames contributions, game collecting, and other random fun facts. see you there! submitted by simon carless (1808) on may 19, 2018 0 comments view past news . tip of the day did you know that you can add a featured game to mobygames? if you think you have a good idea for a featured game, go ahead and submit it . more tips current mobygoal 7000 iphone games (17%) 17% complete we need 1449 more iphone games documented to complete this goal! featured game hunt down the freeman if you're a big half life fan, chances are you may have heard of hunt down the freeman at some point or another earlier in the year (or in 2016 when the game was backed). considered to be not only a bad fan mod in general but also a spit to the face for half life modders and fans everywhere, hunt down the freeman is a broken, poorly voiced, inconsistent mess of a game. it's also undoubtedly fascinating. you play as a marine named mitchell, who is beaten to a pulp and left for dead by gordon freeman (apparently). on a quest for revenge, he finds himself sucked up with the combines and even the g-man. his adventure will take him from snowy mountains to war-torn cities. it sounds pretty cool on paper, but much of the game is just plain broken, from the newly implemented parkour and inventory features to the graphics and gunplay. were if the game were a fan film made with the source filmmaker, or as a free mod, it would've been alright (the game's saving grace are the cutscenes, even if they are out of place). get rid of the internet celebs and replace with a professional voice cast to do the work, and you may have something corny but compelling. but the fact this is a legitimately paid "game" and not a free mod speaks a lot of problematic volumes about how steam is, but worst of all how valve feels about half-life at this point. by tony denis past weeks this day in gaming 1978 star trek commodore pet/cbm version released.
